{"id":4942,"date":"2019-06-06T16:38:44","date_gmt":"2019-06-06T14:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acolada.de\/?page_id=4942"},"modified":"2020-01-16T17:33:33","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T16:33:33","slug":"velingua-terminology-extraction","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/acolada.de\/en\/home\/velingua-overview\/velingua-terminology-extraction\/","title":{"rendered":"Velingua &#8211; terminology extraction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-top: 0cm; line-height: 15.0pt; background: white;\"><b><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Terminology extraction in German and English<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0cm; line-height: 15.0pt; background: white;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0<\/span>The terminology extraction t<span style=\"color: #333333;\">akes into account existing terminology as long as this is available in one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/acolada.de\/en\/home\/uniterm-pro\/\">UniTerm Pro<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/acolada.de\/en\/home\/uniterm-enterprise\/\">UniTerm Enterprise<\/a> or TBX formats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The following formats are supported as <strong>text corpora<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Text (ANSI or Unicode)<\/li>\n<li>XLIFF<\/li>\n<li>PDF<\/li>\n<li>XML<\/li>\n<li>HTML<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>suitable terms are output<\/strong> as a list in a CSV file. There is also the option for the KWIC information to be generated, too.<br class=\"xliff-newline\" \/>Velingua terminology extraction can be integrated as a <strong>command line tool<\/strong> in other environments. The list of suitable terms can then be corrected and imported into any terminology database via CSV import.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0cm; line-height: 15.0pt; background: white;\">The basic methods for extraction are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large relative frequency of lemmas (with lemmatising)<\/li>\n<li>Morpheme analysis (evaluation of frequent morphemes)<\/li>\n<li>N-gram analysis (relatively frequent character sequences \u2013 purely statistical process)<\/li>\n<li>Multi-word recognition using word class patterns (e.g. adjective\/noun sequences in German)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0cm; line-height: 15.0pt; background: white;\">The terminology extraction is highly configurable with<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threshold values for minimum occurrence number<\/li>\n<li>Control of the result set depending on the size of the text corpus<\/li>\n<li>Percentage proportion of the four basic methods<\/li>\n<li>Word types of the suitable terms<\/li>\n<li>Word class pattern for multi-word recognition<\/li>\n<li>Columns in the results file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><br class=\"xliff-newline\" \/>The terminology extraction can conveniently be configured in the <a href=\"http:\/\/acolada.de\/en\/home\/velingua\/organizer\/\">Velingua Organizer<\/a>. Here, the suitable terms can also be transferred to the terminology database interactively.
